The American Man, Bruce Willis (Esquire Magazine)

Below is an image of an issue of Esquire from March of 2001.

This item is from the The Bruce Willis Museum and Library's magazine collection. A section of the museum that currently has on display several hundred issues of magazines that feature Bruce Willis on the cover. This is one of several issues of Esquire that featured Mr. Willis on the cover.

This is an issue that I rushed out to buy from my local Walmart as soon as I found out Mr. Willis was appearing on the cover. So, it's from my personal collection. As opposed to the Moonlight magazine pictured in my last post (I obtained that via eBay auction, paying much more than cover price).

John McClain Replica NYC Badge

Below is an image of an item recently added to the The Bruce Willis Museum and Library's collection. While not an actual movie prop, it is a high quality replica. I recently placed it in a display case along with several other pieces of Die Hard movie replica props.

700×452

Are you a HUGE Bruce Willis fan like I am? You might want to stop by The Bruce Willis Museum and Library some day. The doors aren't open to the public just yet, but will be soon. Stay tuned. I'll announce the details as soon as the museum opens.

I've been a collector of Bruce Willis memorabilia for many years, but only recently decided to move my massive collection to a building downtown so that the public could enjoy my collection.

Another Irrational Nation?

So, I was Googling around and found that there is another "Irrational Nation". This blog is called Lying Lester's Irrational Nation. As per the title of the blog, it's run by a dude who calls himself Lying Lester. I took a look around and found that the guy is a Libertarian Gary Johnson voter, the same as myself.

Still, after reading a few posts I determined that "Lying Lester" is a freaking idiot. For example, he authored a post titled "Lying Lester's Mother Told Him: You've Got to Shop Around". In this commentary Lester writes (re his mother) "her prized precocious child was now a Man, and an extremely masculine Man at that". Clearly this dude is a deluded narcissist.

Lester goes on to mention his "impressive manhood" and that he "did not have any problem bedding hot women who were 10s in terms of appearance". Also, "given his level of success and super manliness, he never could trust that a woman was not just interested in him for his body or his money".

My opinion is that Lying Lester's weenie is likely incredibly small. Anyway, I shot him a message and asked that he change the name of his blog. My blog was on the web before his and I consider "Irrational Nation" to be MY site name.

What ended up happening, however, is that Lying Lester ignored me (got no response). So I shot him a 2nd email. This time he responded, telling me to f*ck off and that he absolutely wasn't changing the name of his blog. Yeah, well F*CK YOU Lying Lester! That said, that Lying Lester also named his blog "Irrational Nation" might just be a coincidence.

But that doesn't change the fact that this Lester jackass is one rude a-hole (called me a lot of other foul names in his email response and suggested that *I* should rename my blog or he'd take legal action).

Cataloging of Bruce Willis Memorabilia Continues

In my strong opinion Bruce Willis is one of the finest actors of our generation. Also an outstanding bartender whom I have had the pleasure of witnessing bartend in person.

Here is an image of Mr. Willis bartending back before he rose to superstardom.

This picture was taken at Cafe Central in Manhattan. He was born Walter Bruce Willis, but back then he went by "Bruno". During this time (early 80s) Bruno was just getting his acting career started.

So I stopped in one night at the Cafe Central and witnessed Mr. Willis and his amazing bartender abilities. Perhaps Bruno the bartender was the model for the Tom Cruise character in the bartending film Cocktail? Probably not, given that Cocktail came out in 1988. But it could be, as the movie does take place in NYC.

Flair bartending, according to Wikipedia, "is the practice of bartenders entertaining guests, clientele or audiences with the manipulation of bar tools (e.g. cocktail shakers) and liquor bottles in tricky, dazzling ways. Used occasionally in cocktail bars, the action requires skills commonly associated with jugglers". And let me tell you, Mr. Willis was a master of this art.

The night I stopped in Mr. Willis put on quite a show. It surely was a night I will never forget. I was so dazzled that I asked Bruno for his autograph. When he told me that he was an actor who bar-tended to pay the bills; I knew then that he would be a big star one day.

I can honestly say that I was not at all surprised that he rose to be one of Hollywood's megastars.

Irrational Nation Inactivity

This blog has been inactive for awhile now. The reason is I just got a large shipment in of Bruce Willis memorabilia, and I, as the curator of The Bruce Willis Museum and Library, have put in a LOT of overtime cataloguing all the items.

Note that I haven't mentioned my work as curator of The Bruce Willis Museum and Library here on this blog (to date), but the info is in my profile. Anyway, it is my strong opinion that Mr. Willis is one of the finest bartenders and actors of our generation.

Just added to my extensive collection is a replica of the Madame Tussauds "Die Hard" wax figure. Below is a picture of the figure as displayed in Times Square ahead of the February release of "A Good Day to Die Hard" in January of 2013.

This is a crown jewel in the collection of the Bruce Willis Museum's collection, costing me many thousands of dollars. But totally worth the price, IMO.

Irrational Christians Imagined War on Christmas

The United States is a multicultural nation made up of people who have many different religious beliefs. All of them are wrong, of course, but the wrongness of Christians gets the most press most of the time, and especially this time of the year. Personally I do not celebrate christmas, as a holiday that celebrates the birth of a fictional "savior" who is the fictional son of a fictional "god" seems silly to me. Even though that is the case, I still do try to get along to go along, and I don't preach my beliefs (i.e. reality) to the more deluded individuals I encounter in everyday life.

In any case, celebrations for any reason can be fun. I have my holiday tree up and am buying solstice gifts for my loved ones. Tis the season for fantasies about gods and their sons and life that continues after death, after all. Perhaps some day humanity will accept that this life is all there is, but not while I still walk the earth; of that I am sure.

So, happy holidays to you all... and if you don't like that I didn't say "Merry christmas", you can stuff it.
